What are the features of the Pension Reform 2020? – The main aspects of the reform (AHV, BVG, FZG, BVV3, DBG, StHG)
- Harmonisation of the reference age for retirement (AHV and BVG) of men and women to age 65 (gradually between 2018 and 2021)
- Flexibility of retirement as regards the AHV: anticipation of 3 years maximum (4.1%, 7.9% and 11.4%) and postponement of 5 years at the most (4.4%, 9.1% 14.2%, 19.7% and 25.5%) with possibility of anticipation/postponement of a portion of the annuity (at least 20%)
- Removal of the AHV CHF 16,800 deductible for retired people working, but AHV contributions are constitutive of AHV annuity in case of postponement
- Flexibility in retirement for BVG with increase of the minimum age for early retirement at age 62 (transitional regime of 5 years for PI with early retirement at less than 62 years)
- Reduction of the conversion rate from 6.8% to 6% in 4 steps (2a):
- 2019: 6,6 %*
- 2020: 6,4 %*
- 2021: 6,2 %*
- 2022: 6,0 %*
- Coordination deduction adjustment (BVG: 24,275; BVG2020: 40% of the salary, at least 14,100 and 21,150 maximum)
- Increase of the retirement credits (BVG): 7%, 10%, 15%, 18%; BVG2020: 7%, 11%, 16%, 18%)
- Guarantee of BVG minimum benefits for the transitional generation from 45 years upwards (by the guarantee fund)
- CHF 70.-/ month AHV supplement for new annuitants (2,350 / 2,420) and increase of couple annuity threshold from 150 to 155% (3,525 / 3,751: 42,300/45,012) – this applies to annuities beginning from 01.01.2018 (effective from the 01.01.2019)
- Financing:
- Increase of employers/employees AHV premiums of 0.3%** (0.15%/0.15%) after harmonisation of the reference ages, i.e. in 2021
- 0.3% VAT increase (normal rate) on 01.01.2021 (if BVG2020 comes into force)
